Throughout life, men often receive the message that they should not appear weak, toughen up, be a man, suck it up, and keep your mouth shut. The effect of these messages going into adulthood results in: difficulty identifying and feeling strong emotions, feeling like one has to be strong all the time, bottling up emotions and feelings (sometimes till they burst), difficulty connecting and communicating in personal and intimate relationships, unfulfilled in career of choice, existential angst/meaninglessness, and many more. Together, we will work on challenging these messages men receive throughout life, and learn how to introduce compassion, emotions, self-awareness, and introspection into your world.

I think as men we feel the pressure to not only identify problems but "fix" them.  Trouble at work? Fix it.  Falling out of shape? Fix it. Difficulty with finances? Fix it.  A lot of men come to therapy with this mentality, but people are more complicated than that.  We are human beings.  We are not broken, and we are not to be "fixed." People may come to therapy to treat symptoms, but it evolves into deeper exploration with meaningful outcomes.  I enjoy working to help with your everyday concerns, as well as the deeper or existential parts of life.
